A simpler handover in the newborn days
Useful notes without recording every second.

Decide what you need to remember
A record should help with a real question or handover. You might note the time of a feed, a nappy change or a sleep period. You do not need to record everything to be attentive to your baby.
Use clear, brief notes
A time, event type and short note are often enough. Record observations rather than conclusions. The tracker stores what you enter; it does not judge patterns, diagnose a condition or tell you whether a routine is right.
Give another caregiver the essentials
Before changing over, point out what happened recently and what needs attention next. If another adult needs a copy of the record, export the relevant entries and share them through a channel you trust.
Take questions to your care team
If you have concerns about feeding, sleep, nappies or your baby’s health, contact a qualified health professional. Bring notes if they help explain the concern, but do not wait for a complete record before asking for help.
Try this, at your own pace.
- Choose a few useful event types.
- Keep notes short and factual.
- Export only the records you intend to share.
